<!--xdl-rich--><p>Cross Country and Soccer have wrapped up their seasons. It's time to start VOLLEYBALL! Our games will be played by Triple Ball rules, which allows for more age appropriate skill development. It mirrors volleyball but allows for more touches on the ball. The schedule and registration form are attached. Schedules and forms will also be handed out Monday to students. If your child would like to participate, please send their registration form back to school by our first practice on Wednesday. We are looking forward to a great season!</p>
<!--xdl-rich--><p>If you have a child, children or dayhome ages 0-6 please come join us in the JH Moore Elementary Kindergarten room Friday, September 26th from 9:30-11am! There will be play, crafts, literacy connections, and fun. Enter the building through the main doors. We look forward to collaborating with Midwest Family Connections (based out of Lloydminster) again this year to bring more opportunities for play and learning in our community. Midwest has been providing activities, events, and family supports for many years.</p>
<!--xdl-rich--><p>If you are able to make a donation to the Fall Fair Silent Auction or Fall Fair Cake Walk, we'd be so grateful! </p> <p>For the cake walk we are looking for baked goods either already packaged in small packages or you can drop off your creations and we will package them in small packages for you. Please drop them off at the office or send them with your child by Tuesday, September 16th, so we are able to organize them beforehand.</p> <p>Thank you in advance for your support! </p>

<p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Subject:</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> Updated Guidelines for Yard Pickup – Fall 2025 Bus Transportation</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Dear Parents and Guardians,</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We are writing to inform you of updated </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">yard pickup guidelines</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> for school bus transportation, which will come into effect this fall. These updates are part of our continued efforts to ensure student safety and the efficient operation of our bus routes.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As outlined in the </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">revised </strong></b><a href="https://www.nwsd.ca/documents/9ad3c5bc-3ed5-5ce9-bf8e-5c08fa768ac9/Parent%20Handbook.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" class="editor-link"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">School Bus Safety Handbook</strong></b></a><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, available on our website, the school division allows for the pick-up and drop-off of students </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">within their yard</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, provided the following conditions are met:</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Yard Pickup Criteria:</strong></b></p><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">There must be </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">adequate space in the yard</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> for the bus to </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">turn around without using reverse gear</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">.</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">turnaround must be maintained and passable at all times</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, including proper </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">snow removal during winter</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">.</span></li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">There must be </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">no obstructions</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> in the driving path or turnaround area.</span></li></ul><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">If a yard does not meet these criteria, it does </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">not</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> mean that students will be denied transportation. In such cases, students will be picked up and dropped off at the </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">end of the driveway</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, rather than within the yard.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Parents are encouraged to contact the Transportation Department by July 15</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> if:</span></p><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">You would like help determining whether your yard meets the criteria, or</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">You need guidance on </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">where a turnaround should be placed</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">.</span></li></ul><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Transportation Department will be happy to provide that assistance</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">.
